HOW IT HAPPENED
-Montevallo got off to the perfect start in the 13th minute. Taylor Gonzales took advantage of a rushing keeper and rounded the goalie before sliding the ball in from a tight angle to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead.
-The Falcons doubled the score after the break in the 54th minute after Taylor Gonzales found goal for the second time. The Lander defense did not close her down and she cut in from the left before letting it fly from 20 yards out and beating the keeper.
-Hannah Sinner pulled a goal back from a corner kick for Lander in 62nd minutes. A bouncing ball in the box was not dealt with which allowed Lander to get on the board.
-Val Visaggio restored the two-goal advantage in the 65th minute. Michaela Longenecker's shot from the right-hand side was saved by the keeper's foot but fell to Visaggio. She picked up the ball on the edge of the box and unleashed a strike past the goalie who got a hand on it but couldn't keep it out of the net.
-In the 67th minute, the game saw the 4th goal in a 12-minute span. Lander pulled another goal back through Kari George. Kelsey Guard's pass forced Mouyal off her line and George passed the ball into an empty net.
-Montevallo finished the game off in the 77th minute through Tylor Ring. A free kick from Taylor Gonzales' rebounded off the crossbar and fell to the striker who reacted first to restore the two-goal advantage.
 STAT OF THE GAME
-Taylor Gonzales' double took her to 6 goals on the season, which leads the team. Both teams had 14 total shots in the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-Today was the final home game for the Falcons. The team recognized the departing seniors -- Kourtnee Hayward, Ellie Mouyal, Michaela Longenecker, Jessica St. John, Abbey West, and Valerie George.

The Falcons face USC Aiken in the final match of the season next Saturday, October 29. The kickoff is set for 4 p.m. Central.
