HOW IT HAPPENED
Montevallo outlasted Augusta 3-2 on the road in its second consecutive five-set match in Peach Belt Conference play.
The Falcons used a 6-0 run midway through the opening frame to secure a 25-22 win in the first set. Junior
Natalie Twyford contributed two kills in the stretch. Fellow junior
Kristy Bohan provided the final kill to help the Falcons close out the victory.
Augusta rallied for a 25-16 win in the second set to tie the match at 1-1. The Jaguars used a 9-3 run midway through the frame to take a 20-13 lead on a kill by Jordan Bickett. A service ace by Bickett capped the win for Augusta.
Montevallo responded with a 25-23 victory in the third set to take a 2-1 lead in the match. The Falcons overcame a 4-0 deficit to start the frame. A kill by Bohan gave the Falcons a 20-13 advantage midway through the set, which marked their largest lead in the frame. Augusta stormed back with a 11-4 run to trim the deficit to 24-23 in the late stages of the set before a kill by Bohan clinched the win for the Falcons.
The Jaguars tied the match at 2-2 after surviving a hard-fought fourth set for a 29-27 win in the frame. A kill by Bohan gave the Falcons a 10-6 lead early in the frame. A kill by Bickett gave the Jaguars a 18-15 advantage later in the frame, marking the largest lead in the set for Augusta. A kill by senior
Chandler Cooper gave the Falcons a 24-23 lead late in the frame, but Montevallo couldn't close out the set as Augusta clinched the 29-27 win.

Hannah Christie recorded her fifth double-double of the season after registering a team-high 44 assists to go along with a career-best 21 digs. The double-double marked the 12th in her career for the setter from Sammamish, Washington.

Kristy Bohan finished with a career-high 27 kills in the victory over the Jaguars.
