HOW IT HAPPENED

USC Aiken swept Montevallo 3-0 in the Falcons' second Peach Belt Conference match of the day.

The Pacers survived in a hard-fought first set for a 25-22 win in the frame. The Falcons led 7-4 early in the frame following a couple of attack errors by the Pacers. A kill by junior Kristy Bohan gave Montevallo a 22-21 lead late in the frame before USC Aiken went on a 4-0 run to end the set.

The Pacers took control early in the second set and coasted to a 25-9 win in the frame. USC Aiken closed the set with a 18-4 run.

USC Aiken closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the third set. The Falcons shook off a slow start as the Pacers raced out to a 6-1 lead in the frame. A kill by Bohan and an attack error by the Pacers gave Montevallo a 17-15 lead in the set before USC Aiken regained the lead and held off the Falcons down the stretch.

STAT OF THE MATCH

The Falcons managed just 26 kills in the three-set match, their second lowest total in a match this season.
