HOW IT HAPPENED

-The Falcons and the Pirates faced off for the final time in the regular season as Peach Belt Conference opponents.  In a game that saw seven lead changes, the Falcons were unable to put the Pirates away late in the game as Armstrong State rallied back from a seven-point deficit in the third period.

-Both teams were bitten by the turnover bug with the Pirates turning over the ball 28 times and the Falcons 27 times.  The Pirates capitalized on the Montevallo turnovers and scored 29 points off the Falcons' mistakes.  On the other hand, Montevallo was only able to convert 17 points off the Pirates' turnovers.

-Montevallo shot 38 percent from the field in tonight's game.  Albanellys Perez was the most efficient scorer for Montevallo, shooting 9-of-11 from the field.  Perez was also the leading scorer and rebounder for the Falcons with 18 points and seven rebounds. 

-After entering the fourth period tied with Armstrong State at 45 points,  the Falcons were held to just 17 points in the final period.

STAT OF THE GAME

Three Falcons scored in double figures in tonight's game. Along with Perez's team-leading 18 points, Jazmine Stubblefield scored in double figures for the second time this season and netted 11 points.  Haven Albright also scored in double figures and had 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting.

UP NEXT

The Falcons will take the floor again after the new year on January 2 when they head to Montgomery, Ala., to take on Auburn-Montgomery for the second time this season.  That matchup will tip off at 1:30 pm.
