HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo took the lead for good in the opening game of the doubleheader when senior Taylor Walker blasted a two-run homer off the batter's eye in center field in the bottom of the third inning.
- Senior Jeremy Hyde and Walker homered in back-to-back plate appearances in the bottom of the fourth inning in the first game of the doubleheader to push the Falcons' lead to 8-3 at the time.
- Junior Dane Hutcheon sparked a three-run inning in the bottom of the fifth inning with his RBI single to left field to extend the Falcons' lead to 11-3.
- Junior Daniel Pardo blasted a two-run homer over the fence in right-center field in the bottom of the second inning to give Montevallo the lead for good in the nightcap.
- Pardo homered again in the bottom of the third inning, with his two-run shot to right-center field giving the Falcons a 6-1 advantage at the time.
- Hutcheon capped the scoring for the Falcons with his three-run blast in the bottom of the fourth inning, which extended the Falcons' lead to 9-1.

The Falcons finished with six home runs combined in the doubleheader sweep of the Golden Tigers. Senior Taylor Walker and junior Daniel Pardo each homered twice, while senior Jeremy Hyde and junior Dane Hutcheon also blasted a home run each.

Senior Taylor Walker now leads the Peach Belt Conference with eight home runs this season after his two blasts in the Falcons' 11-5 win over Tuskegee in the first game of the doubleheader.
Junior Daniel Pardo drove in a season-high four runs in the Falcons' 9-3 win over the Golden Tigers in the nightcap as he finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of home runs.
Senior Landon Smith tied his season high with five strikeouts in a complete-game victory in the Falcons' 11-5 win over the Golden Tigers in the opener. Smith (2-1) allowed five earned runs on 11 hits without issuing a walk in the win.
Sophomore Tanner Koch registered a season-high four strikeouts as he picked up the win in relief in the Falcons' 9-3 win over Tuskegee in the nightcap. Koch (1-0) didn't allow a hit and issued just one walk in his two-inning relief stint.

The Falcons will return to action March 5-6 with a three-game Peach Belt Conference series at Kermit A. Johnson Field against nationally-ranked Francis Marion University, which is ranked No. 17 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II poll.
