HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning in the first game of the doubleheader, with senior Thomas Bradey highlighting the frame with a two-run double.
- The Falcons plated two more runs in the top of the fifth inning on RBI singles by juniors Dominic DeVille and Jacob Whiting.
- USC Aiken took a 9-7 lead before Montevallo clinched the win with four runs in the top of the ninth inning. Junior Daniel Pardo, who scored on a wild pitch in the frame, and freshman Tyler Krabbe were each hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and DeVille reached on a walk with the bases loaded.
- Junior Alex Pondick (1-0) earned the win in relief with a strikeout in 2/3 of an inning and sophomore Kale Latorre picked up his first save of the season after striking out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.
- The Pacers took control early in the nightcap with four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
- Bradey homered in the top of the second inning to give the Falcons their first run in the game.
