HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when junior Dane Hutcheon reached on a single to right field before scoring on an error by West Florida.
• Montevallo pushed its lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning when senior Thomas Bradey led off the frame with an infield single before scoring on a RBI single to left field by junior Jacob Whiting.
• West Florida plated its first run in the bottom of the second inning to trim the Falcons' lead to 2-1.
• The Argonauts took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning following a RBI triple by Robert Lopez and a run-scoring single by Kyle Hamner.
• West Florida pushed its lead to 6-2 with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, capped with a RBI single by Nic Strasser.
• The Argonauts capped the scoring with a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give West Florida a seven-run cushion.
• Senior Taylor Burr (0-2) took the loss after allowing two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts in a three-inning relief appearance.
