HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when junior Dane Hutcheon led off the frame with a single to left field before scoring on a RBI double to left-center field by junior Dominic DeVille.
- The Falcons scored another run in the bottom of the third inning and took a 2-0 lead when senior Jeremy Hyde, who was hit by a pitch, scored on a balk later in the frame.
- Montevallo pushed its lead to 8-0 with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, which included RBI singles by Hutcheon and Hyde and a RBI double by DeVille.
- North Alabama scored its lone runs in the game in the top of the sixth inning on a RBI double by Chris Blakey and a RBI single by Dylan Calhoun.
- Junior Chris Piteo (3-1) earned the win on the mound after allowing one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks in five innings.
