HOW IT HAPPENED
- Armstrong State took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a two-run homer to right-center field by Ryan Patterson.
- The Pirates extended their lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning on a RBI sacrifice fly by Cody Sherlin.
- Montevallo plated its first run in the bottom half of the second inning when senior Taylor Walker led off with a single up the middle before scoring on a RBI single to right-center field by junior Dominic DeVille.
- Armstrong State scored a run in the top of the fourth inning to extend its lead to 4-1 following a solo home run by Jerad Curry.
- The Falcons took their first lead in the game, 6-4, after plating five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Senior Thomas Bradey scored on a RBI single to right-center field by junior Matthew Furuto and freshman J.D. Minor scored on a RBI single by junior Dane Hutcheon before senior Jeremy Hyde drove in three runs with his three-run homer to left-center field.

Sophomore Kale Latorre registered a career-high 11 strikeouts while allowing just one earned run on three hits with one walk in 7 2/3 innings in relief, marking the longest outing of his career.
Led by Latorre, the Falcons' pitching staff recorded a season-high 15 strikeouts against Armstrong State.
Junior Daniel Pardo tied his career high with four hits as he finished 4-for-8 at the plate with a pair of doubles and drove in a pair of runs.
