HOW IT HAPPENED
- Montevallo plated the first run in the game in the top of the first inning when senior Jeremy Hyde singled to right-center field and scored later in the frame on a passed ball.
- West Alabama tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning on a RBI sacrifice fly by Jake Bush.
- The Tigers scored six runs to take a 7-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning, which included a pair of two-run singles by Luigi Mendez and Davis Aiken.
- The Falcons trimmed the Tigers' lead to 7-2 in the top of the fourth inning when senior Thomas Bradey singled up the middle before scoring on a RBI fielder's choice by senior Chase Bryant.
- Senior Taylor Walker blasted a solo home run to left field and junior Dominic DeVille, who reached on a walk, scored on a RBI double down the left-field line in the top of the fifth inning as Montevallo trimmed the Tigers' lead to 7-4.
- West Alabama plated a run in the bottom of the fifth inning on a RBI double by Adam Chamblee to push its lead to 8-4.
- The Tigers capped the scoring in the game with seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, highlighted by Chamblee's two-run homer in the frame.
