AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of Montevallo junior Kristy Bohan has been named a preseason All-Peach Belt Conference selection following an announcement by the conference office Aug. 19.
Bohan was named a first team NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region selection by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association following her sophomore season.
Bohan, who was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week twice a year ago, was also a first team All-Peach Belt Conference selection.
The Huntsville, Alabama native led the Peach Belt Conference with 437 kills a year ago and was second in the conference with a .345 hitting percentage. Bohan was also fourth in the conference with 107 total blocks and finished seventh in the conference with 0.86 blocks per set.
Bohan recorded a career-high 26 kills against Augusta and registered a career-best 11 blocks against Southern Wesleyan last season.
Bohan also shined in the classroom, earning a spot on the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team. She was also named a Gold Scholar on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll and was named a Division II Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement selection.
