HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcons were on the score sheet after 24 seconds. Taylor Gonzales converted a cross from Tylor Ring from 11 yards out to give the Falcons an early 1-0 lead.
-Francis Marion had an immediate response in the third minute. Perez-Bayon dropped a cross and it fell to Tori Whigham who leveled for the home side.
-The Patriots took a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute when Whigham turned provider for Melina Much who easily side touched the ball in the net from inside the box.
-The Falcons got an equalizer before halftime when Madison Ellis used her height to convert Ally Reeves' corner to tie the game at 2-2 before the break.
-Montevallo's go-ahead goal was a long time in the making but finally came at the 70th-minute mark. Hannah Williamson's through-ball split the Patriot defense, allowing Taylor Gonzales to round the keeper and add her second of the game from 13 yards out.
-The Falcons padded the scoreline with three goals in the final three minutes. Val Visaggio scored her first goal in a Falcons uniform. Michaila Franklin notched her second of the year before her strike partner Ring scored her first goal.
STAT OF THE GAME
Taylor Gonzales managed two goals on four shots to double her number of total goals at Montevallo. All four shots were on goal and both goals gave Montevallo leads.
