HOW IT HAPPENED

Montevallo dropped its first home match of the season in a 3-1 setback against visiting Augusta in Peach Belt Conference play.

The Jaguars took the first set 25-18 after closing the frame with a 7-1 run.

Augusta took a 2-0 lead in the match after overcoming a four-point deficit late in the second frame and securing a hard-fought 27-25 win in the set.

The Falcons raced out to a 7-2 lead in the third set on their way to a 25-21 win in the frame. A pair of service aces by sophomore Brie Blume keyed the early run. Montevallo overcame a late three-point deficit with a 6-1 run after a series of attack errors by the Jaguars.

Augusta clinched the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth and final set. The Jaguars ended the frame with a 12-2 run to secure the victory.

STAT OF THE GAME

Freshman Michaela Henderson registered a career-high 20 digs against the Jaguars.
