HOW IT HAPPENED

Jazmine Stubblefield posted her second career triple-double in an 83-79 victory over the Flagler Saints to lift the Falcons to their first Peach Belt Conference victory of the season.

Flagler jumped out on top by going on an 11-3 run in the first period.  The Falcons made just three baskets in the opening period including a 3-pointer from Ashley Dunstan.  The Saints outscored the Falcons 19-9 in the period and took advantage of Montevallo's sloppy play, scoring five points off turnovers.

In the second period, the Flacons picked up the pace and matched the Saints basket for basket.  Both teams scored 15 points in the period with the Falcons going 4-of-13 from the field.

The Falcons were led by Dunstan in the first half.  Dunstan netted 10 points and also led the team with 5 rebounds.

In the third period, the Falcons began to whittle away at the Saints' lead.  Montevallo went on an 11-2 run to begin the period and pulled within one point of the lead, eventually tying the ball game at 42-42 with 3:44 left to play in the period.  Flagler was able to get out of the period with a six-point lead after being outscored 24-20 by the Falcons.

The fourth period started with a 12-3 run by Montevallo, who pulled the game even at 60-60 with 2:21 left in the game.  The Falcons took their first lead of the game at the 1:52 mark in the final period off a layup from Dunstan.  In the final two minutes, the Falcons pushed the lead to as many as six points before surrendering the lead to the Saints who tied the game with eight seconds remaining in regulation at 69-69.

In the overtime period, the Saints led by as many as three points but couldn't hold off a surging Montevallo offense.  After Morgan Smith hit a pair of free throws to pull the game to within one point, a jumper by Stubblefield gave the Falcons a lead they would never surrender.  The Saints pulled within one point but Haven Albright sealed the victory for the Falcons with a three-pointer.  The Falcons were able to hit their free throws down the stretch to hold onto the 83-79 victory.

STAT OF THE GAME

Stubblefield recorded her second career triple-double against the Saints.  In the Falcons previous game against Georgia Southwestern, Stubblefield posted double-figure points in scoring, rebounds, and assists, a feat she accomplished again in today's game.

Stubblefield scored 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out 11 assists in today's victory over the Saints.
