HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons returned home to Trustmark Arena to face off against the visiting Young Harris Mountain Lions.  After an evenly matched first period of play, the Falcons stalled offensively in the second period and were not able to recover as the Mountain Lions came away with the 75-58 victory.

In the first period of play, both teams appeared to be evenly matched and Montevallo went to work establishing their presence in the paint.  The Falcons outscored the Mountain Lions 14-2 in the paint and took advantage of Young Harris' mistakes by scoring nine points off turnovers.  Albanellys Perez dominated inside and scored 10 points in the opening period.  However, the Mountain Lions started off hot on the perimeter as Briana Bell went a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.  Young Harris tied the game at 18-18 on a layup at the buzzer.

The Falcons offense hit a roadblock in the second period as Young Harris held Montevallo to 10 percent shooting in the period.  The Falcons were only able to score five points in the period, with Ashli Tyus hitting the Falcons only field goal.  Montevallo entered the break trailing 42-23.

Montevallo's struggles continued in the third period and the Falcons were outscored 18-14.  D'Miyah Foster led the Falcons in the period with four points.

Montevallo started to rally back in the fourth period, outscoring the Mountain Lions 21-15.  However,  the Young Harris lead was too much for the Falcons to overcome as Young Harris held on to win 75-58.

STAT OF THE GAME
