HOW IT HAPPENED

The Falcons and the Cougars met in the first of two meetings on Wednesday night in Columbus, Georgia.  Columbus State cruised to a 103-61 victory over the Falcons.

After both teams exchanged baskets early in the opening period, that was as close as the game would get for the Falcons.  Columbus State went on a 12-0 run before Montevallo was able to score their next basket.  A jump shot from Ashley Dunstan broke the Cougars' run at 5:22 of the first period.  Columbus State ended the period on a 9-3 run to lead the Falcons 27-9.

The second period went much like the first with the Falcons struggling to find a rhythm on the offensive side of the ball.  Columbus pulled ahead 60-27 as both teams headed into halftime.

In the second half, Montevallo was outscored by the Cougars 43-34 as Columbus State cruised to a 103-61 victory over the Falcons.

STAT OF THE GAME

Ashley Dunstan led the team with 20 points and also grabbed four rebounds. Also on the defensive side, Dunstan recorded three steals.
