HOW IT HAPPENED
Augusta overcame a seven-point deficit at halftime against the Falcons to defeat Montevallo 73-63 in a Peach Belt Conference contest.
The Falcons fell behind 10-2 early before outscoring the Jaguars 20-8 in the remainder of the first period. A pair of free throws by junior Haven Albright gave Montevallo a 22-18 lead late in the frame before the Falcons carried a 22-20 advantage into the second period.
Montevallo held onto the lead throughout the second period and senior Morgan Smith knocked down a free throw with 1:31 left in the period to give Montevallo a 37-30 lead, its largest in the first half, heading into the locker room at halftime.
Augusta opened the third period with a 16-6 run and took the lead for good on a three-point play by Abrea Harris with 4:44 remaining in the period, which gave Augusta a 46-43 lead at the time.
The Falcons trimmed the deficit to 64-59 on layup by sophomore Ashley Dunstan with 2:29 remaining in the game before a 4-0 run by the Jaguars put the game away.

Sophomore Ashley Dunstan registered her first double-double in her playing career with 15 points and 14 rebounds against the Jaguars.
