MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo volleyball team opened another busy weekend of Gulf South Conference play with a 3-0 setback Oct. 20 against visiting Lee in a conference clash at Trustmark Arena.

Kristy Bohan finished with a team-high 11 kills but most of them were in the third set. The majority of freshman
Evelina Teran's eight kills came in the second set. The Falcons only hit .186 on the night, but led the majority of the second set before falling 25-23 in the frame.
Montevallo showed signs of improvement in the second set after the Flames ran away with a 25-18 win in the first set. After a slow start in the third set, the Falcons climbed back in it behind
Kristy Bohan, but Silvia Sartori and MaKayla Beebe kept Lee in front and helped them close out the match with a 25-19 victory in the third set.
Lee was led by Sartori, who added 14 digs to go along with 15 kills. She hit a game-high .448 in the match.
Montevallo has two home matches Saturday, Oct. 21 to close out the three-game home stretch. The Falcons bounce back against Auburn-Montgomery in the annual Dig Lavender match honoring those battling rare forms of cancer. First serve from Trustmark Arena is set for 12 p.m. Montevallo plays Spring Hill at 4 p.m. to close out the weekend.

GAME NOTES
- Senior Kristy Bohan led the Falcons in kills with 11 on the night. Silvia Sartori of Lee had a game-high 15 kills to lead all players.
- Montevallo had 68 digs, with three players in double digits. Junior Brie Blume led the team with 16 digs, while sophomore Michaela Henderson added 15 digs and freshman Amanda Nugent contributed 13 digs. MaKayla Beebe's 23 digs was a game-high for the Flames.
- Lee had eight service aces compared to just two for Montevallo, with Sartori contributing a match-high five service aces.
- The Falcons hit only .186 in the match, while Lee finished with a .264 hitting percentage after hitting an impressive .412 percentage in the first set to help the Flames to an early lead.
 HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lee hit an impressive .412 in the opening set. The Flames had five different players contribute kills to race out to a 10-6 lead. The Falcons pulled within two after a timeout, but a pair of kills for Sartori and an attack error by junior Shannon Dudley put the visitors up 16-11. Montevallo won four out of the next five points to pull within two, but the Flames took seven of the last nine points to win 25-18.
- The second set saw the Falcons get off to a 4-0 start behind two kills from freshman Evelina Teran, who led the Falcons with 15 kills in their most recent outing. Teran added four more kills as the Falcons led 19-13 before Lee took the final five points of the set in a 25-23 win in the frame to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
- Lee raced out to a 5-0 lead to start the third and final set. The Falcons tied the set at 8-8 after a pair of kills by senior Kristy Bohan. However, Lee never surrendered the lead and freshman Bailey Kress' ninth kill of the match completed the sweep as the Flames took a 25-19 win in the third set.
