LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team saw a two-match winning streak in Gulf South Conference play come to an end Oct. 6 following a 3-0 setback on the road at the University of West Alabama in a conference match.
Senior Kristy Bohan registered double-digit kills for the sixth time this season after leading the Falcons with 11 kills and a .474 hitting percentage in the match.
Freshman Liz Tisch led Montevallo (7-7 overall, 3-4 in Gulf South Conference) with 20 assists, while junior Brie Blume led the Falcons defensively with 10 digs.
Montevallo rebounded from a loss in the opening set and battled West Alabama until the end in the final two frames, but the Tigers (12-6 overall, 4-1 in Gulf South Conference) overcame a late deficit in both the second and third sets to secure the 3-0 victory.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Oct. 7 with another match on the road at Mississippi College in Gulf South Conference play. First serve is set for 1 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Alabama closed the opening set with a 17-3 run, including a 8-0 stretch midway through the frame and a 5-0 run to cap the set in a 25-10 win over the Falcons in the frame.
- Montevallo bounced back as the Falcons jumped out to a 13-5 lead in the second set following back-to-back kills by senior Kristy Bohan and led 24-20 late in the frame before the Tigers went on a 7-1 run to end the set on their way to a 27-25 win in the frame.
- The Falcons used a 3-0 run with three consecutive kills by Bohan late in the third set to take a 19-15 lead in the frame before West Alabama again went on a 10-4 run to clinch the match with a 25-23 win in the set.
