MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Montevallo women's soccer program overcame a two-goal deficit in the first half to earn a 2-2 draw against Christian Brothers.
Montevallo improved to 6-3-1 on the season and 4-3-1 with today's draw.
The Falcons conceded the opening goal of the game to the Buccaneers on a header in the third minute of the match. The Buccaneers were awarded a penalty kick in the ninth minute and the successful try gave the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead.
Montevallo got on the board in the 27th minute when Michaila Franklin gathered a cross into the box from Allye Darnell and found goal to cut the lead to 2-1.
Darnell scored the equalizer less than a minute later off on intercepted throw in from Christain Brothers. Darnell dribbled into a breakaway and beat the goalkeeper to the left side of the net to tie the game at 2-2.
The Falcons created chances late in the game but were unable to convert them into a goal. Today's draw was the first one this season for Montevallo.

3' | Sinead Tierney scored a header that was crossed into the box by Emily Woods. Lauren Magdefrau was also credited with an assist.
9' | Caitlin Barnes successfully converted a penalty for her third goal this season.
27' | Michaila Franklin received a cross on a free kick from Allye Darnell at the back post and scored the first goal for the Falcons.
28' | Allye Darnell intercepted a Christian Brothers throw-in and dribbled into a breakaway and scored on the left side.
GAME NOTES
- Today's game was the second time this season that the Falcons had to overcome a two-goal deficit in order to earn a positive result. The other time this season was against Faulkner University when Montevallo came back to win 4-3.
- Allye Darnell now leads the team in goals and points this season. The Graves County, Ky. native now has five goals and 12 points this year. Her assist on the Falcon's first goal was her second of the season.
- Both goals were scored by reserve players for the Falcons in today's game. Darnell and Franklin entered the game off the bench for the Falcons and were effective during their time on the field. Darnell led the team in shots and took five of them in the game and placed four of them on
net.
- The Falcons were outshot 19-13 in the game but were more effective with their chances, placing 7 of their shots on frame and had a shot on goal percentage of 53.8 percent.
