              •            Seniors Jamaar Taylor and Julio Guity scored a team-high 21 points each. Taylor shot 8-of-14 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-3 shooting from the charity stripe. Julio Guity shot 8-of-10 from the floor and 5-6 from the charity stripe. Guity hauled in nine rebounds to lead all Falcons.Â
              •            Junior Jeremiah Curtis contributed 16 points and also grabbed eight boards.
              •            Junior Chris Williams finished with 16 points, five rebounds and a team-high eight assists.
•              Junior Jamaar Gilbert finished with four points, five rebounds and five assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
              •            Montevallo raced out to a 9-2 lead following a 3-pointer by junior Chris Williams with 17:41 remaining in the first half.
·       The Falcons led by as many as 10 points in the opening half following a 3-pointer by Williams with 5:20 remaining in the half before Carver trimmed the deficit to 41-40 at the break.
·       Carver kept the margin close for the first 15 minutes of the second half before a 3-pointer by Williams and a dunk by senior Jamaar Taylor stretched the Falcons' lead to 83-75 with 3:44 remaining in the game.
·       A 3-pointer by senior Tyler Brough stretched the lead to double digits, 88-77, with 1:41 as the Falcons held off the Cougars in the 92-80 victory.

Montevallo, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's basketball team defeated Carver College 92-80 in their first home game of the season.
The Falcons (3-3) led 41-40 at halftime after shooting 51.1 percent (18-of-35) from the floor in the first half. The Falcons continued to add to their lead in the second half, gaining their largest lead of 14 points with six seconds to go in the game.
Montevallo also outrebounded Carver 29-24 led by Julio Guity who grabbed nine boards for the Falcons.
