ROME, Ga. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team fell on the road at Shorter University 3-0 in a Gulf South Conference match Nov. 3.
Senior Kristy Bohan led the Falcons (13-13 overall, 7-7 in Gulf South Conference) with 12 kills while hitting .360 in the match.
Junior Brioni Dixon added seven kills in the match against the Hawks, who improved to 16-9 overall and 9-4 in conference play.
Freshman Amanda Nugent paced Montevallo with 15 digs, marking the 11th consecutive match the newcomer has registered double digits in digs.
Freshman Liz Tisch finished with a team-high 13 assists.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday, Nov. 4 in another Gulf South Conference match on the road at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Central.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons opened the first set with an early 3-1 lead following a pair of kills by junior Brie Blume and sophomore Harley Masoner, but the lead was quickly erased following a 6-0 run by the Hawks as Shorter pulled away for a 25-17 win in the frame.
- Shorter opened the second set with a 11-6 run before a kill by freshman Claudia Chisolm and an attack error by the Hawks trimmed the deficit to three points, but the Hawks again stretched out their lead down the stretch in a 25-19 victory in the frame.
- Montevallo battled early in the third frame, taking an 8-7 lead on a service error by Shorter and tying the set at 10-10 following a kill by Chisolm, before the Hawks went on a 6-1 run and closed out the sweep with a 25-17 win in the third and final set.
