VALDOSTA, GA. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated by Valdosta State 93-70 in conference play.
The Falcons are now 2-9 overall on the season and are 0-3 in conference play.
Montevallo scored the first points of the game on the opening shot. Kiya Sain nailed a three-pointer to get the Falcons on the board. Valdosta State then went on a 10-0 run to take a lead they would not surrender.
The Blazers outscored the Falcons 46-25 in the first half to take a commanding double-digit lead into halftime.
After the break, the Falcons played the Blazers in a tighter second half. Valdosta State only outscored Montevallo 27-22 in the third period.
The Blazer cruised in the final period as Montevallo managed to outscore Valdosta State 23-20.
Valdosta State used their big first half to earn the double-digit 93-70 victory.
