RECAP

TROY, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated by Troy University 130-50 on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons were outmatched all game as the Trojans scored at will on the undersized Falcons.  Montevallo put up a valiant effort in the first half and netted 24 points thanks to the play of senior Alba Perez.  Perez led the Falcons in scoring with 11 points in the half and went 5-of-6 from the field and was 1-of-2 from the free throw line.

Montevallo gathered in 15 rebounds in the opening half to create four second-chance points.  The Falcons' defense was also able to create eight turnovers in the half and turned them into five points.

In the second half, the Falcons lost their leading scorer when Perez picked up her fifth personal foul with 6:49 remaining in the third period.  Perez ended the night with 13 points and three rebounds for the Falcons. 

The Falcons leading rebound in today's game was Kiya Sain who grabbed five boards.  Sain also scored nine points for the Falcons.
