Ohio Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a solo home run by Kelly Mix.
The Falcons tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom half of the frame when junior
Kelsey Vining reached on an infield single and stole second base before moving to third base on a groundout by junior
Darbi Duke and scoring on a RBI single to right field by freshman
Haley Barnette.
Jordan Nichols homered to left field in the top of the third inning to give the Panthers a 3-1 advantage.
Montevallo plated three runs in the bottom half of the frame to take a 4-3 lead. Sophomore
Lauren Van Steenwyk got things started with a line drive homer to center field. Freshman
Holly LaForce then singled to center field and advanced to third base on a double to center field by junior
Celestia Davila before scoring on a fielder's choice bunt by freshman Mariel
Bertossi. Davila was caught stealing home to erase one baserunner before Bertossi came around to score on a double to right field by junior
Dylan Bailey.
Ohio Dominican tied the game at 4-4 when Taylor Farmer, who singled to left field, scored on an error by the Falcons. Taylor Kline, who reached on an infield single, scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch to give the Panthers a 5-4 victory.

Lauren Van Steenwyk's homer in the third inning is the Falcons' eighth of the season. Van Steenwyk became the fifth Montevallo player to record a home run this year.
UP NEXT
The Falcons will continue play in the Music City Invitational with a pair of games Saturday, Feb. 18 at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Montevallo will face nationally-ranked University of Indianapolis in its first game at 10 a.m. before taking on Lindenwood University later in the day at 12 p.m.
