HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons continued their hot streak with a 12-8 victory over the Bearcats in game two of their three-game series. A late game home run from Caleb Ledbetter helped lift the Falcons to victory and extend their winning streak to seven games.
In the first inning, the Falcons came out hot and put up four runs in the opening frame. Collin Dupree started the game with a leadoff single and a throwing error put him at second. Dupree scored on a Daniel Pardo double to make it 1-0. Matthew Furuto made it a 3-0 game with a home run to left field that also brought Pardo around to score.  Ledbetter also scored in the inning after a triple in his first at-bat put him on third, Dom DeVille's ground out brought Ledbetter in to make it a 4-0 game.
Another run by Montevallo in the bottom of the second inning made it a 5-0 game.
Just as it looked like Montevallo would run away with the game, McKendree came back in the top of the third to tie the game at 5-5.Â
The Falcons retook the lead in the bottom of the third with four more runs. Sebastian Samuels had a two-RBI home run in the inning that plated Ledbetter. Furuto and Jacob Whiting also came home in the inning to add to the Falcons lead as Montevallo made it a 9-5 game.
Montevallo gave up a two RBI homerun in the fifth inning as McKendree made it a 9-7 game.
A Furuto sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and a two-RBI home run in the seventh from Ledbetter capped off the scoring for the Falcons and made it a 12-7 game.
In the final frame, the Bearcats scored a run on a double down the right field line, but the Falcons held on to win the series with the 12-8 victory.
Kale Latorre (2-0) got the start for the Falcons and pitched 5 1/3 innings and struck out four batters.
STAT OF THE GAME
Ledbetter went 3-of-4 from the plate and was a double away from completing the cycle. Ledbetter was also one of three batters to record a two RBI home run on the day.
