HOW IT HAPPENED

Montevallo struggled all afternoon to get their offense going in a 15-4 loss to PBC foe North Georgia. 

The Nighthawks plated a trio of runs in the opening frame of play to take an early 3-0 lead over the Falcons.

The bats for North Georgia remained hot as they scored runs in all but two innings in today's game.

Montevallo was held scoreless for the first eight innings as North Georgia took a 15-0 lead into the final inning.

The Falcons got on the board in the top of the ninth inning.  Ryan Brooks faced a bases loaded full count and connected for a grand slam into left centerfield.

Montevallo's late game rally was cut short as North Georgia sealed the 15-4 victory.

Justin Whitley (3-4) got the start on the mound for the Falcons and pitched two innings in today's game. 

Tanner Koch and Nathan Mitchell each entered the game in relief and threw an inning of work. 

Drew Mullinax and Jake Posey pitched the final three innings on the mound for the Falcons. 

The Montevallo pitching staff combined to strike out eight batters in today's game.
