- Montevallo had two players score in double figures in today's game against Delta State. De'Asia Marsh led the team with the most points by netting 24 points, while Kiya Sain also scored in double figures for the Falcons and netted 10 points.
- The leading rebounder for the Falcons was Kiya Sain who had eight rebounds in the game and was just two boards short of her first double-double of the season.
- Marsh had the hot hand for the Falcons and shot 53 percent from the field in today's game. Marsh was 8-of-15 for the game and also went 3-of-7 from long range.

RECAP
CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated 67-58 by Delta State in the first of two games to be played in the state of Mississippi.Â
Montevallo is now 2-14 overall this season and has a 0-8 record in Gulf South Conference play.
Early in the game's opening period, De'Asia Marsh hit her first three-point shot of the game to give the Falcons an early 3-2 lead at the 8:26 mark of the first period. That lead would be the only time the Falcons led in the game. Delta State went on a 10-0 run to jump out in front with the lead.
Montevallo pulled to within four points of the lead with 3:10 left to play in the first period. However, the lady Statesmen continued to push on the offensive side of the ball and ended the period with a 16-11 lead.
Both teams had their defense step up in the second half as the game saw just 19 points scored between the two teams. Delta State outscored Montevallo to take a 27-19 lead into halftime.
Each team came out of the break and put up 19 points in the third period. Montevallo was able to cut the lead down to three points midway through the period before Delta State pushed it back to an eight-point lead.
In the final period, the Falcons were unable to gain ground on the Lady Statesman. With 3:53 remaining in the game, Montevallo was able to cut the game to within three points but Delta State pushed the lead back to double digits and led by as much as 13 points before settling for a 67-58 victory.
