CLINTON, Miss. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated by Mississippi College 80-65 in Gulf South Conference play.
The Falcons are now 2-15 overall this season and 0-9 in conference play.
Montevallo trailed for most of the game as they struggled to overcome the Choctaws defensive pressure.
The Falcons were held to 12 points in the opening period and found themselves down by eight points after a quarter of play.
In the second period, Montevallo cut into the lead and outscored Mississippi College 19-16 in the period and entered halftime down five points.
The Falcons' offensive woes continued in the second half as Mississippi College outshot the Falcons and held Montevallo to 13 points in the period. The Choctaws closed out the game by outscoring the Falcons 24-21 in the final period to earn the 80-65 victory.
