LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated by West Alabama in Gulf South Conference play 92-63.
Montevallo is now 2-11 overall this season and is 0-5 in conference play.
The Falcons were outscored in each period by the Tigers and allowed a game-high 28 points in the opening period.
At the end of the first half, the Falcons trailed the Tigers 46-28.
Alba Perez and Jomekia Morine led the Falcons in the opening half with seven points each. Perez was also the Falcons' leading rebounder in the first half with five rebounds.
The Falcons were never able to find their rhythm in the second half as the Tigers cruised to the lopsided victory.
Cheyenne Cunningham netted 12 points in the second half to end the game with 15 points and Morine added 11 more points to her game total to end the game as the leading scorer for the Falcons with 18 points.
Paige Ward ended the game as the Falcons' leading rebounder after grabbing six boards, three in each half.
