MONTEVALLO, Ala. –
The University of Montevallo women's soccer team defeated No. 18 Mississippi College in the GSC Conference Tournament to earn a berth into the conference semifinals.

Montevallo faced 15 shot attempts from the Choctaws in the match but freshman goalkeeper Annie Mason kept Mississippi College off the board.  Mason was aided by the Falcons' backline who slowed the Choctaws' offensive threat.

Victoria Whitehouse had the lucky boot for the Falcons and placed a well taken shot into the back of the net to give Montevallo a 1-0 lead with five minutes remaining in the match.

Despite the Choctaws best efforts to apply pressure on the Falcons' defense, Montevallo held their own and turned away three Mississippi College corners in the final two minutes of play to seal the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

84'| Victoria Whitehouse scored the game-winning goal for the Falcons.  Whitehouse took a pass from Melanie Stevens at the top right side of the box and drilled her shot past the goalkeeper
