TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men's basketball team fell on the road at the University of Tampa 63-61 in its season opener Saturday, Nov. 10 on the first day of the Gulf South Conference-Sunshine State Conference Challenge.
The Falcons' largest lead in the contest occurred following a 3-pointer by sophomore
Kaleel Solomon with 2:07 remaining in the opening half.
After junior
Cam Copeland tied the contest at 57-57 with a fastbreak layup with 2:55 remaining, the Spartans outscored the Falcons 6-4 down the stretch to secure the win.

Wade Lowman led the Falcons (0-1) with 12 points. Senior

The Falcons will return to action Sunday, Nov. 10 with a contest against Saint Leo University in the Gulf South Conference-Sunshine State Conference Challenge hosted by the University of Tampa. Tip off is set for 1 p.m. Eastern/12 p.m. Central.
