GAME NOTES
· Nautika Philpot led the team in scoring with a team-high of 16 points on 4-of-14 shooting from the field and was 7-of-10 from the free throw line. Philpot also led the team in assists with six.
· Kiya Sain was 4-of-6 from the field and had a total of 12 points for the Falcons in the game. Sain also added a team-high three steals to her stat line.
· Kourtnie Smith was the teams leading rebounder and grabbed 10 boards to help Montevallo to victory. Smith grabbed two offensive and eight defensive boards.
· Shyan Flack scored in double figures in the game on 5-of-6 shooting to total 11 points and had four rebounds in the victory.
· Montevallo was active on the defensive side of the ball and took advantage of Saint Leo's mistakes. The Falcons scored 22 points on points off of turnovers.
· The Falcons led in second-chance points and outscored the Lions 14-3 in that category.
· Montevallo's bench continued to play active this season and outscored the Lions 22-8.

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team defeated the Saint Leo Lions in their second road game of the weekend 67-57 to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Nautika Philpot led the Falcons in scoring and assists in the game with 16 points and six assists.
Montevallo got off to a slow start in the first period and was outscored 14-8 to open the game.
In the second period, the Falcons came back and played the Lions even with both teams scoring 15 points. Montevallo entered halftime trailing the Lions 29-23.
In the second half, Montevallo began their comeback just down three points. The Lions were able to make their largest lead of the period five points, 31-26, with 8:39 remaining in the game. The Falcons continued to chip away at the lead and tied the game at 33-33 with 6:29 remaining in the period. Montevallo took the lead moments later and led the rest of the period to lead the Lions 45-42 after three periods of play.
Saint Leo kept it close and retook the lead in the fourth period with 7:54 remaining but a three-pointer from Kiya Sain on the next possession gave the Falcons the lead and they would not relinquish it. Montevallo held the lead despite the Lion's best efforts to overtake the Falcons. Montevallo hit their free throws down the stretch to earn the 67-57 victory.
Montevallo will be back on the court next weekend when they compete in the Washburn Thanksgiving Classic in Topeka, Kansas. The Falcons will play Washburn on Friday, November 23rd at 4:00 pm CT.
