· Montevallo was held to their lowest point total in today's loss. Montevallo has averaged 72.6 points per game this season.
· The Falcons were also held to their lowest points scored in a period in the opening period of play when the Falcons were only able to muster eight total points.
· Montevallo was outscored 14-4 in second-chance points by the Lady Statesmen.
· Delta State dominated the paint and outscored the Falcons 36-14 in the low post.
· Aaliyah Rice scored a team-high 12 points and went 6-of-13 from the field. She also grabbed four rebounds in the game for the Falcons.
· Montevallo was held off the boards by the Lady Statesmen. Montevallo's leading rebounder had five rebounds. Kourtnie Smith and Paige Ward both notched five boards in the game.

RECAP
CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team was defeated 65-45 by the Delta State Lady Statesmen to fall to 4-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Montevallo struggled on the offensive side of the ball and couldn't find an answer for Delta State's Frederica Haywood. Montevallo was held to their lowest point total in a period and in a half this season in today's game.
The Falcons were held on offense to just 17 points in the opening half by scoring eight points in the first period and followed that up with a nine-point second-period performance. Montevallo trailed Delta state 28-17 at halftime.
Delta State controlled the second half despite the Falcons better performance on offense. The Lady Statesmen were able to close out the game and secure the double-digit 65-45 victory.
Montevallo is back in action this Saturday on the road against Tuskegee when the Falcons take on the Golden Tigers at 1:00 pm.
