GAME NOTES
- Nautika Philpot led the team with 19 points in the game on 8-of-14 shooting. She also went 2-of-4 from the three-point line. Philpot dished out three assists and had five steals for the Falcons.
- The Falcons continued to dominate the boards grabbing 44 total rebounds with three players totaling six, Kourtine Smith, Alayiah Rice and Kiya Sain.
- The Falcons featured three players scoring in double figures. Kiya Sain scored 14 points and Courting Smith had 10 alongside 19 from Philpot.
- West Georgia forced 19 turnovers by the Falcons and only committed 17 turnovers but Montevallo took advantage of the turnovers scoring 17 points off turnovers to West Georgia's 8.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball program defeated the West Georgia Wolves 69-55 in a Gulf South Conference matchup.
Montevallo improved to 6-4 on the season with today's victory, which saw the team celebrate head coach
Gary Van Atta's 500th career victory before tip off.
Montevallo excelled offensively in the win shooting 45 percent from the floor and 38 percent from the three point line. The Falcons held the Wolves to just 34 percent shooting from the floor and 22 percent from beyond the arc.
Montevallo jumped out to an 11-5 lead early in the first period after hitting four of their first five shots from the floor including a three pointer from
Nautika Philpot and
Kiya Sain.
West Georgia took their first and only lead of the game 14-13 after a made layup by Terrianna Cave with 3:47 to go in the first quarter. The Falcons responded with a layup from Cheyenne Cunnigham less than a minute later to retake the lead 15-14. The Wolves would not take the lead from the Falcons.
Montevallo closed out the second half on a 6-2 run to lead 42-31 at halftime.
Out of halftime the Falcons outscored the Wolves 12-9 in the third and entered the fourth with a 14 point lead 54-40. The Falcons went on to win 69-55.
Nautika Philpot led the Falcons with 19 points and was 8-of-14 from the field and went 2-of-4 from behind the three-point line.
