• Montevallo dropped their third home game of the year to former conference opponent Columbus State.
• Montevallo scored first with a Caleb Ledbetter solo home run in the bottom of the first inning.

• Columbus State's bats came tonight putting together two, five-run innings and put up 16 total runs in the contest.   
• The Falcons put up four runs in the bottom of the ninth after a long Ledbetter three-run home run.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Ledbetter opened the scoring with a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning.
• Columbus St. took the lead after a three-run third inning was capped off by a Mason McClellan two-RBI single.
• The Cougars opened up their lead to seven runs in the fourth inning partially in thanks to a two-run homer from Grant Berry.
• Ledbetter singled home two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the Cougar lead to 9-4.
• Columbus cracked the game open even further after a five-run seventh inning that included a McClellan three-run home run.
• After the Cougars added runs in the eighth and ninth innings to make the lead 16-4, the Falcons put together a four-run bottom of the ninth thanks to a Ledbetter three-run homer to make the final score 16-8.

The Falcons will take on the UAH Chargers this weekend, playing a three-game set in Huntsville. They will play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 3rd at 1 pm and 4 pm, and end the series at 1 pm on Sunday, March 5^th.
