MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
· Senior Kelsey Vining led the Falcons at the plate as she finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and drove in two runs.
· Senior Celestia Davila finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a home run, driving in one run and scoring two runs.
· Freshman Carlee Mullinax went 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run and drove in two runs while scoring one run.
· Senior Darbi Duke went 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.
· Sophomore Haley Barnette finished 1-for-4 at the plate with a double.
· Juniors Jessica Boyd and Amanda Ingram and freshman Mychael McMillan each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
· Sophomore Abbey Pratt closed out the game with two scoreless innings to secure her first save of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· The Falcons took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning when senior Celestia Davila reached on a walk before scoring on a two-run homer to left field by sophomore Carlee Mullinax.
· West Georgia plated three runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-2 lead.
· Montevallo tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fourth inning when Davila blasted a solo shot to right-center field.
· The Falcons took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth inning when sophomore Mariel Bertossi reached on a throwing error by the Wolves before scoring on a RBI double to center field by senior Kelsey Vining.
· Montevallo added to its lead in the top of the seventh inning when senior Darbi Duke led off the frame with an infield single and stole second base before scoring on a RBI single by Vining.

The Falcons will wrap up the three-game series on the road at the University of West Georgia with a doubleheader Saturday, March 24 against the Wolves. First pitch in the opening game of the doubleheader is set for 12 p.m.
