MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS

·        Senior Kelsey Vining finished 3-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs in the victory.

·        Junior Lady Sarah Federico went 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles and drove in two runs.

·        Junior Dylan Bailey, who drove in one run, was one of five Falcons with one hit in the win including senior Darbi Duke, sophomore Haley Barnette, senior Celestia Davila and sophomore Brianna Stella.

·        Freshman Mychael McMillan pitched two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts in relief while earning the win in the circle.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

·        West Georgia took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.

·        The Falcons tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third inning on a RBI double to right-center field by junior Lady Sarah Federico.

·        The Wolves took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning.

·        Federico again tied the contest at 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning with another RBI double.

·        Montevallo took a 4-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning when senior Dylan Bailey drove in a run with a RBI single and junior Marisa Sosa scored on a throwing error by West Georgia.

·        Sophomore Holly LaForce finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and drove in two runs in the victory.

·        Sophomore Haley Barnette went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple while driving in two runs and scoring one run.

·        Sophomore Brianna Stella finished 2-for-3 at the plate while scoring one run and driving in one run.

·        Senior Celestia Davila went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.

·        Senior Darbi Duke, senior Kelsey Vining, junior Lady Sarah Federico and freshman Lauryn Garcia also registered hits in the win.

·        Junior Jessica Boyd pitched two scoreless innings to record the win in the circle.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

·        West Georgia scored the first run in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.

·        The Falcons plated three runs in the top of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead after freshman Lauryn Garcia, sophomore Holly LaForce and senior Darbi Duke each recorded RBI singles in the frame.

·        Montevallo pushed its lead to 4-1 in the top of the third inning when sophomore Haley Barnette scored on a RBI groundout by sophomore Brianna Stella.

·        The Wolves trimmed the deficit to 4-2 with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

·        The Falcons plated another run in the top of the sixth inning when Garcia scored on a RBI single down the right-field line by LaForce.

·        Montevallo scored its final two runs on a two-run double by Barnette in the top of the seventh inning.
