MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
· Junior Lady Sarah Federico, who drove in three runs and scored one run, finished 1-for-4 at the plate with a walk off three-run homer to lift the Falcons to victory.
· Senior Kelsey Vining paced the Falcons offensively as she finished 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double while driving in four runs and scoring two runs.
· Sophomore Brianna Stella went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored one run.
· Sophomore Mariel Bertossi finished 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.
· Senior Celestia Davila went 1-for-4 at the plate with a double and scored two runs.
· Freshmen Carlee Mullinax and Lauryn Garcia each finished 1-for-3 at the plate.
· Junior Alexis Bonanno pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four batters in relief.
· Junior Abbey Pratt (2-1) earned the win in the circle for the Falcons after allowing two earned runs and striking out two batters in two innings in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Auburn-Montgomery took a 3-0 lead after plating three runs in the top of the third inning.
· Montevallo tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom half of the third inning when sophomore Mariel Bertossi reached on a bunt single and senior Celestia Davila reached on a fielder's choice before senior Kelsey Vining blasted a three-run homer over the wall in right field.
· The Falcons took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Davila doubled down the left-field line before scoring on a RBI single to center field by Vining.
· The Warhawks plated a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 5-4 lead.
· Junior Lady Sarah Federico provided the heroics in the bottom of the seventh inning with her three-run walk-off blast to left-center field after a double to left-center field by Vining and an infield single by sophomore Brianna Stella.
