Game 1
MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
  • Jason Cryar was the only Falcon to record multiple hits in the game and went 2-of-4 from the plate.  Cryar also had two RBI in the game and scored once.
  • Caleb Ledbetter drove in a pair of runs and scored once in the game one victory.
  • Cas Silber (8-3) got the start and the win for the Falcons and tossed seven innings of work.  Silber retired six batters and allowed just one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jason Cryar singled to centerfield to score Jared Nixon and Ryan Brooks to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead.
  • In the sixth inning, the Falcons scored on a sacrifice fly from Tyler Krabbe and then later in the inning scored off a Sebastian Samuels single.  Montevallo jumped out to a 4-0 lead late in the game.
  • An error by Shorter in the seventh inning allowed two more runs to score and gave Montevallo a 6-0 lead.
  • Shorter scored a run in the eighth and ninth innings as Montevallo held on for the 6-2 lead.
Game 2
MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
  • Chad Wagner and Tyler Krabbe both went 2-of-3 from the plate in the final game of the doubleheader.  Wagner also scored once for the Falcons in the game.
  • Ryan Brooks drove in the Falcons only run on his only hit of the game.
  • Alex Pondick (5-1) was the game two starter for the Falcons and recorded his fourth shutout of the season.  Pondick allowed five hits and struck out eight batters in his outing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Chad Wagner scored the only run of the game when Ryan Brooks grounded out to the shortstop and put Montevallo up 1-0.

The Falcons and the Hawks face off in the series finale on Saturday morning with the first pitch set for 10:00 a.m. CT.
