Falcons Sweep Series With Hawks In 10-2 Series Finale Victory

MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
  • Collin Dupree led the Falcons from the plate and went 4-of-5 and also drove in three runs in the Falcons' victory.
  • Caleb Ledbetter had a team-high four RBI and went 3-of-5 batting. 
  • Sebastian Samuels went 3-of-5 and doubled twice for the Falcons.
  • Jason Cryar drove in two RBI and also scored once in the victory.
  • Chrit Rudkin (5-2) started the game and was credited with his fifth win of the season.  Rudkin threw seven innings and allowed just two earned runs and had eight strikeouts.
  • The Falcons used three pitchers in relief.  Grayson Wakefield, Colton Nussel, Lucas Ellenberg each threw 2/3 of an inning and combined to strike out three batters.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Caleb Ledbetter hit a three-run home run in the opening frame of the game to put Montevallo on top 3-0.
  • Montevallo took a 4-0 lead in the second inning off a Collin Dupree single into left field that brought Khari Anderson around for the score.
  • The Falcons put three more runs on the board in the fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead. 
  • In the bottom of the fourth inning, Shorter scored a pair of runs to make it a 7-2 ball game.
  • Montevallo sealed the 10-2 victory in the seventh inning with another three runs.  Collin Dupree and Jason Cryar both singled in the inning for the Falcons.
UP NEXT
 
The Falcons will return home to take on West Florida in a three-game weekend series that will begin on Saturday, April 21.  First pitch in the series is set for 1:00 p.m.
