Falcons Fall to Young Harris 10-7 in Conference Play

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's lacrosse team was defeated by Young Harris 10-7 in GLVC play on Friday afternoon.
 
The Falcons are now 6-7 on the season and 0-4 in conference play.
 
Montevallo had three different players score two goals in the game.  Spencer Seiler, Thomas Vaesen, and Kyle Nichols all netted goals in today's loss to the Mountain Lions.
 
Alex Dozzi also netted a goal for Montevallo in today's game.
 
Kyle Little played the full 60 minutes between the pipes for the Falcons and registered 15 saves.

KEY GOALS

1st, 14:11 | Young Harris' Bruce Silk sunk the first goal of the game to give the Mountain Lions an early 1-0 lead.
 
1st, 9:48 | Kyle Nichols scored the first goal for the Falcons and tied the game at 1-1 off an assist from Blake Lowenberg.
 
1st, 2:09 | Spencer Seiler connected on a Blake Lowenberg pass to give Montevallo a 2-1 lead.
 
2nd, 7:03 | Alex Dozzi scored off a pass from Mason Combs to pull Montevallo to within one goal of the lead, 4-3.
 
4th, 9:16 | Thomas Vaesen and Ryan Shae connected for the first of two goals in the final period for Vaesen.  Vaesens goal midway through the period made it 7-6 in favor of the Mountain Lions.
 
4th, 8:13 | Thomas Vaesen scored the final goal for the Falcons which made Young Harris' lead 8-7 before the Mountain Lions scored two more goals to seal the 10-7 victory.

GAME NOTES
  • Young Harris held the advantage in shots taken in today's game.  The Mountain Lions took 44 shots on the day compared to Montevallo's 23.
  • Young Harris won the majority of faceoffs with Montevallo claiming just one that occurred in the fourth period.

The Falcons will play the final game of their inaugural season on April 20th at 7:00 p.m. against Shorter University.
