MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS

·       Junior Lady Sarah Federico finished 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a double while driving in six runs and scoring two runs in the victory.

·       Senior Darbi Duke went 2-for-4 at the plate with three stolen bases while driving in one run and scoring one run.

·       Sophomore Brianna Stella finished 2-for-4 at the plate and scored three runs while also stealing two bases.

·       Senior Dylan Bailey went 2-for-2 at the plate.

·       Senior Kelsey Vining finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double while driving in one run and scoring one run.

·       Sophomore Haley Barnette went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and scored one run.

·       Sophomore Mariel Bertossi finished 1-for-1 at the plate with a double and scored one run.

·       Senior Celestia Davila went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in two runs.

·       Freshman Lauryn Garcia finished 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in one run.

·       Junior Abbey Pratt (3-1) earned the win in the circle in relief after pitching two perfect frames with one strikeout.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

·       The Falcons plated four runs in the top of the first inning and took a 4-0 lead following a RBI double by senior Kelsey Vining and a RBI double by junior Lady Sarah Federico as well as a two-run single by senior Celestia Davila.

·       The Tigers tied the game at 4-4 after scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning.

·       Federico lined a two-run single into right field in the top of the second inning to extend the Falcons' lead to 6-4.

·       West Alabama again tied the game at 6-6 after plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

·       Federico blasted a three-run homer over the wall in left field to push the Falcons' lead to 9-6 in the top of the sixth inning.

·       A RBI sacrifice fly by freshman Lauryn Garcia and a RBI single to center field by senior Darbi Duke extended the Falcons' lead to 11-6 in the top of the seventh inning.

·       Senior Kelsey Vining finished 1-for-4 at the plate with a double and scored one run.

·       Senior Dylan Bailey went 1-for-4 at the plate with a double and drove in one run.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

·       West Alabama scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and three runs in the bottom of the second inning to jump out to an early 5-0 lead.

·       The Falcons scored their first run in the top of the third inning on a RBI single by sophomore Haley Barnette.

·       The Tigers added three more runs in the bottom of the third inning to extend their lead to 8-1.

·       Montevallo plated three runs in the top of the fifth inning following a two-run single by Barnette and a RBI double by senior Kelsey Vining, which trimmed the deficit to 8-4.

·       West Alabama scored another run in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend its lead to 9-4.

·       The Falcons scored their final run in the top of the seventh inning when sophomore Brianna Stella crossed home plate following an error by the Tigers.
