MONTEVALLO HIGHLIGHTS
· Freshman Lauryn Garcia led the Falcons offensively as she finished 3-for-4 at the plate with a double while driving in a career-high six runs and scoring one run.
· Sophomore Holly LaForce went 2-for-5 at the plate with a home run while driving in two runs and scoring one run.
· Sophomore Brianna Stella finished 2-for-5 at the plate while driving in three runs and scoring one run.
· Senior Celestia Davila went 2-for-4 at the plate while driving in two runs and scoring in one run.
· Senior Kelsey Vining finished 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs.
· Senior Darbi Duke went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs.
· Sophomore Haley Barnette finished 1-for-3 at the plate while driving in one run and scoring four runs.
· Senior Saralynn Campbell went 1-for-1 at the plate with a double while driving in one run and scoring one run.
· Junior Lady Sarah Federico finished 1-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run.
· Sophomore Mariel Bertossi went 1-for-1 at the plate and scored two runs.
· Junior Jessica Boyd pitched one scoreless inning in the circle in relief with one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning following a RBI sacrifice fly by freshman Lauryn Garcia.
· West Alabama scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 4-1 lead.
· Montevallo plated nine runs in the top of the third inning, highlighted with a two-run homer by sophomore Holly LaForce, to take a 10-4 lead in the contest.
· The Tigers added two runs in the bottom of the third inning to trim the Falcons' lead to 10-6.
· Garcia lined a two-run double into centerfield in the top of the fourth inning to extend the Falcons' lead to 12-6.
· Sophomore Mariel Bertossi scored on an error in the top of the sixth inning to extend the Falcons' lead to 13-6.
· West Alabama plated a pair of runs to trim the deficit to 13-8 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
· The Falcons closed out the victory with four runs in the top of the seventh inning following a RBI double by senior Saralynn Campbell, a RBI single by senior Celestia Davila and a RBI single by Garcia.

The Falcons will prepare for the upcoming Gulf South Conference Tournament, which will be held May 3-6 in Florence, Alabama, the site of top-seeded University of North Alabama.
