HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- The Falcons and Saints played a tightly contested opening set. With the game tied at 5-5, the Falcons strung together five straight points to take a 10-5 lead.
- Montevallo led by as much as seven points, 22-15, before the Saints went on an 8-1 run to tie the game at 23-23.
- Amanda Nugent broke the tie with a kill to get Montevallo one point away from claiming the set. An attacking error by Limestone gave Montevallo the 25-23 victory.
 Set 2
- After falling behind 2-0, the Falcons reeled off six straight points to take a 6-2 lead.
- Montevallo's biggest lead of the game was at 13 points as the Falcons claimed set two with a decisive 25-13 victory.
Set 3
- Both teams started the set matching each other point for point. With the game tied at 6-6, the Saints scored five unanswered points to take an 11-6 lead.
- Montevallo was able to keep the match within two points of the lead for most of the set.Â
- The Saints held on and didn't surrender the lead and won the set 25-19.
Set 4
- Montevallo jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the fourth set of the match thanks to a 4-0 run.
- Limestone made a push and pulled the set to within one point of the lead after three straight points that made it 11-10.
- The Falcons responded with five straight points of their own to push the lead back to 16-10.
- Late in the set, the Saints made a push to retake the lead and made it a 22-21 set in favor of the Falcons. Montevallo closed out the game with three straight points to win the set 25-21.
