GAME NOTES
- Amanda Nugent led the Falcons with 17 kills in the match against the Pioneers. Brie Blume was the only other Falcon to register double-digit kills and totaled 10 kills in the match.

- Fernandez led the team on the defensive end and denied the Pioneers four times at the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- The Falcons struggled in the first set of the match to find their offensive rhythm. Tusculum jumped out to three quick points on the Falcons and took an early 3-0 lead.
- The Pioneers led by as many as 10 points (18-8) mid-way through the set.
- Montevallo was not able to cut into the Pioneers lead as Tusculum held on for the 25-14 win.
 Set 2
- Tusculum jumped out to an early 2-0 lead over the Falcons and held on to the advantage early on in the set.
- Montevallo took their first lead with a 7-1 run to jump out to a 10-8 lead.
- Tusculum retook the lead with a three-point run to go ahead 11-10 midway through the set.
- The Falcons fell behind 19-16 late in the set to the Pioneers. However, the Falcons kept fighting and went on a five-point run to take a 21-19 lead.
- After the Pioneers tied the game at 21-21, the Falcons went on a 4-1 run to close out the game and tie the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 victory.
Set 3
- A pair of runs to open the game by both teams saw the game tied at 4-4 early in the set.Â
- Tusculum was able to gain a 12-10 advantage before the Falcons strung together nine unanswered points to take a 19-12 advantage.
- Montevallo never surrendered the lead even though Tusculum made a run to pull within four points (24-20) of the lead.
- Montevallo closed out the set 25-20.
Set 4
- The fourth set was a back and forth affair that saw neither team gain an advantage until late in the set.Â
- Trailing 11-12, Montevallo strung together a 9-2 run to take a 20-14 lead over the Pioneers.
- Tusculum fought back and pulled the game to within four-points, 23-19.
- Montevallo closed out the match with two straight points to win the deciding set 25-19
