BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four University of Montevallo student-athletes have been named to the Gulf South Conference All-Academic Team for their sport following the conclusion of the fall semester.

The Falcons' All-Academic Team selections include sophomores Evelina Teran and Amanda Nugent in volleyball, junior Zane Wilson in men's cross country and sophomore Hannah Waki in women's soccer.

EVELINA TERAN (VOLLEYBALL)

University of Montevallo sophomore Evelina Teran was named a second team All-Gulf South Conference selection.
Teran played in a total of 102 sets this season and totaled 326 points for a set average of 3.20 points per set.  The Fort Walton Beach native had 278 kills for and a .246 hitting percentage this season.  Teran also registered 45 digs and 87 blocks on the defensive end this season.
Teran owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade-point average as a Mathematics major.

AMANDA NUGENT (VOLLEYBALL)

University of Montevallo sophomore Amanda Nugent was named a second team All-Gulf South Conference selection.
Nugent competed in 100 sets this season for the Falcons and totaled 337.5 points through 29 matches. The Cumming, Ga. native totaled 290 kills for a .203 hitting percentage this season.  Nugent also has 50 assists and 22 service aces for the Falcons. Defensively, Nugent has compiled 326 digs and 46 blocks this season.
Nugent owns a 3.636 cumulative grade-point average as a sophomore.

ZANE WILSON (MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY)

University of Montevallo junior Zane Wilson was named an All-NCAA Division II South Region selection for the second year in a row after finishing 24th overall in individual standings with his time of 32:53.66 at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship.
Wilson owns a 3.893 cumulative grade-point average as a Mass Communication major.

HANNAH WAKI (WOMEN'S SOCCER)

A native of California and one of the most experienced defenders on the team, University of Montevallo sophomore Hannah Waki has continued her form after a successful freshman year.
The sophomore played in 20 of the Falcons' matches this season, helping the team record seven shut outs. Waki was named a third team All-South Region selection by the United Soccer Coaches Association.
Waki owns a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average as a Biology major.
