MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the recipients of the 11th annual Falcon Cup, recognizing student-athletes for their achievements in their field of play, sportsmanship, team spirit, community service and academic excellence.

The 2026 Falcon Cup winners feature a back-to-back winner and a program that earned its first Falcon Cup since 2017-18.

Softball topped the women's standings for the program's first Falcon Cup in eight years while Men's Basketball took the top spot for the second-consecutive year. Women's Soccer finished in second among the women's programs while Men's Swimming took second on the men's side.

The Falcon Cup is awarded to the team that excels best in academics, community service, and student-athlete game attendance during the academic year. The award also takes into consideration the team's overall record for the season, post-season record, and record against in-state opponents.

Softball's Falcon Cup victory follows a season that saw the Falcons make the program's first NCAA Regional while adding a successful year off the field with a strong academic performance and community service.

Men's Basketball's second-consecutive win follows a 2025-26 campaign that featured the program's first NCAA Regional victory since the 2014-15 season while also performing at a high standard off the court in the classroom and the community.

Softball finished the 2025-26 campaign with a total of 787 points after posting a record 39-18 overall record, a 20-13 mark in Gulf South Conference action, the program's first appearance in the NCAA South Region Tournament, a team GPA of 3.69, and an average of over 10 community service hours per student.

Men's Basketball tallied a total of 692 points in the standings after recording a 22-9 overall record, the program's second-consecutive NCAA South Region Tournament, Montevallo's first NCAA postseason win in 11 seasons, posted a 3.57 team GPA for the 2025-26 academic year and totaled nearly 150 community service hours.

Men's basketball posted a 4-2 record in the Win the State games in 2025-26 while softball added five wins against in-state conference opponents.

Women's soccer finished second in the standings with 758 points while men's swimming took second on the men's side with 631 points.

Next year's Falcon Cup starts in the fall 2026 semester with academics, competition, community service, "Win the State" games and supporting fellow student-athletes.
