- The Falcons edged Samford on the glass in the loss 38-37, including 15 offensive rebounds. Kourtnie Smith led the Falcons with nine rebounds. Natalie Armstrong recorded a game-high 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
- The Falcons continued to excel in the paint, outscoring the Bulldogs 24-20.
- The Bulldogs led 6-4 early in the first quarter before going on an 8-0 run to lead 14-4. The Falcons ended the first quarter only scoring four points, a season low.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women's basketball team fell on the road at Samford University 73-47  on Jan. 8 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Falcons shot just 29 percent from the floor in the game while the Bulldogs shot 45 percent from the floor.

The Falcons recorded their lowest first quarter point total of the season with just four points in the first. Montevallo responded by scoring 16 points in the second quarter, marking their highest point total of the game.
