Lino scores twice as the Falcons take down AUM 4-1 on the road

Montevallo, Ala. – The University of Montevallo Women's Soccer Team defeated the Auburn-Montgomery University Warhawks 4-1 in Gulf South Conference Play. The Falcons took advantage early with a 1-0 lead in the first half. Montevallo continued its offensive attack in the second half, adding three more goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
3' | Sophomore Melanie Stevens opened the scoring for the Falcons early on, unassisted.
48' | Three minutes in to the second half, junior Samar Lino found the back of the net off an assist from senior Tylor Ring, extending the lead to 2-0.
53' | Lino again found the back of the net, assisted by Romee Contreras, to lead 3-0.
59' | AUM's Ruby Mendez scored, cutting the lead to 3-1.
65' | Freshman Tori Ochoa added to the Falcons lead to go up 4-1, scoring off an assist from junior Hannah Waki.


GAME NOTES
·        Montevallo topped the Warhawks 4-1 in conference play. 
·       Junior Samara Lino led the Falcons with two goals in the contest. Sophomore Melanie Stevens and freshman Tori Ochoa each added a goal for Montevallo.
·       Junior Hannah Waki, senior Tylor Ring, and sophomore Romee Contreras each registered as assit for the Falcons.
·       Montevallo outshot the Warhawks 34-6 in the contest and placed 13 shots on goal compared to just three by West Alabama. 
 ·       Montevallo totaled four corners while AUM totaled just one.
·       There were no cautions or ejections in the match.
